• BARBARA HANJILEC: Creative Paths to Students' Well-Being: Supporting Gen Z Through Art and Emotional Intelligence
  The workshop focuses on supporting Gen Z’s mental health through emotional intelligence and creative expression. It highlights the high levels of stress and emotional challenges Gen Z faces, often accompanied by feelings of isolation, and the struggles we, teachers, face in working with that generation.  You will hear about an extracurricular activity, Paint and Talk, which aims to help students become more self-aware and resilient, and be introduced to hands-on activities that can be easily integrated into regular English lessons.  

• Ivana Burić Kurtović, M.A. and Eva Bogdanović, M.A.: Colourful gardens: on creativity and global biodiversity in language education
  Our story-wrapped game-based workshop focuses on unlocking one’s unique creativity in a diverse environment and developing a growth mindset through welcoming mistakes and promoting divergent thinking. Participants collect essential elements for healthy plant growth by engaging in different language activities which stimulate their imaginative capacity and embrace cultural and linguistic diversity while fostering critical thinking and collaboration.

• Valadžija Đurđica ( British Council ): IELTS za učenike viših razreda srednje škole: IELTS Trial Test prvenstveno služi kao priprema za službeni IELTS test, no koristan je svima koji se pripremaju za standardizirane ispite engleskog jezika uključujući maturu. Probni test pruža vrijedno iskustvo polaganja ispita u kontoriliranim uvjetima i rješavanja zadataka uvremenskom ograničenju.

1. Ivana Opačak: "Suno AI: From Poetry 2 Music"
   Croatian and English language teacher Ivana Opačak (prof. izvrstan savjetnik, Ekonomsko-birotehnička škola, Slavonski Brod) will present AI-supported poetry-writing activities (including the creation of blackout poetry) that she did with her students and project partners to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, St Valentine's Day, Women's History Month and World Poetry Day 2024. As a part of the workshop, she will introduce Suno AI, a generative music creation program powered by artificial intelligence, which she frequently uses to enrich English lessons with music, positively impacting (not only) students' mental health.

2. Tihomir Matković: ““GAME, SET, LEARN: Making Vocabulary Fun (again)”
   In this workshop, we will explore the amazing world of vocabulary teaching! A prominent issue of ''what's more important – grammar or vocabulary'' will be addressed in a brief discussion. We will then move on to discover why the implementation of games and game-like activities is important in today’s ESL classrooms and how it can aid students in vocabulary learning and retention. The speaker will then present several ideas for fun vocabulary activities covering a wide range of ESL topics – from numbers to specific parts of speech. Using games in ESL classrooms, we can boost students’ engagement and make their learning process easier and more enjoyable.

HUPE is looking for candidates for the position of Osijek branch president. We are looking for people who are organized, responsible, and willing to volunteer and invest some of their time in HUPE and its development. 

The branch president is elected for a term of two years and officially takes over the management of the branch from September 1, 2025. The president is primarily responsible for the regular 'maintenance' of the membership, organizing branch meetings during the school year, and exchanging information related to the work of the Association. Also, he or she participates in the organization of the HUPE conference together with the Board members and other branch presidents.
