HUPE REPRESENTATIVE AT THE 38TH APPI ANNUAL CONFERENCE
We are proud to share that our HUPE colleague, Gordana Bujanić Tretinjak, represented us at the 38th APPI Annual Conference "ELT in a Multimodal World" held in Lisbon, Portugal.
Gordana presented her session, "Gender Equality – Are We There Yet? – a School Project," highlighting how a school-based initiative can foster greater awareness, creativity, and multimodal engagement among students around the vital topic of gender equality.
The conference featured outstanding plenary sessions by Nik Peachey, Rose Aylett, George Kokolas, Sandie Mourão, Gabriel Díaz Maggioli, and Nayr Ibrahim, alongside a vibrant programme of over 95 excellent speakers who shared their expertise, passion, and innovative ideas about multimodality and ELT practices.
Beyond the academic enrichment, this event was a unique opportunity to strengthen professional bonds, meet incredible educators from across the continent, and rekindle friendships with inspiring people I am proud to call my friends. Events like these remind us that passionate teachers recognise the spark in one another — and that our professional journeys are made all the richer by the connections we build.
We sincerely thank APPI Portugal for the opportunity to participate and for organising such a beautifully crafted event that truly embodied the spirit of inspiration, learning, and human connection.
