The 33rd HUPE International Conference is almost here, and it’s time to reveal our fifth plenary speaker... none other than the legendary Jeremy Harmer! 🎉
About Jeremy Harmer
Jeremy is a teacher, trainer, consultant, and renowned author of texts for teaching English, especially methodology books for teachers. With decades of experience as a presenter, workshop leader, and plenary speaker, he has inspired teachers all over the world.
Through his company Betterlate Publishing, Jeremy will soon release brand-new methodology guides—so keep an eye out! And if that wasn’t enough, he is also an accomplished musician and singer-songwriter.
Plenary Talk: When we sing together: doing things with other people
We are more connected than ever, yet paradoxically, we often feel more isolated as social media fuels anger, negativity, and alienation. In contrast, when people do things together—like singing in choirs or making music—the results are shared experiences, connection, and positivity.
In this inspiring plenary, Jeremy uses music as a metaphor for collaboration in the classroom, showing how working together can lead to positive and successful learning outcomes. And yes… there will be singing! 🎵
